Lucky Lanterns Relocation

Hey guys,

So as you know I've been meaning to put my lucky lanterns up in my room and today I finally did it. 10 blue lanterns are hovering over my bed and it looks so nice!
So here are some day/night shoots for y'all.

Thats all for now,
Jody

Back to School

Hi guys,

Well as much as I like to avoid the subject of school, next week I will be going back to school so I did a little last minute shopping for exercise books at Officeworks and I thought I'd show you my Back To School Gear.

The bag I bought at half-price ($25 I think?) at Strandbags
Bag essentials - Pocket mirror, tissue packet, USB thumb drive, Bobbin cord holder (these are so great and you can get them in different sizes too. Need to get more of these! I found this for about $3 or $4 at Melon at Chatswood), mini folder and earphone splitter from eBay.
About $7 I think from the post office. Mini folder to keep notes and timetables in etc.
Peanuts pencil case from Typo. Ruler and scissors from Smiggle. Rest from Officeworks.
Brick pencil case from Officeworks. Rubber from Smiggle
Bambi Notebook from Typo. Found this cute little 12 pack of pencils from Officeworks for $3.
I added some washi tape just in case the lid comes off and to add a bit of colour

I will probably be using both laptop and books this year so I bought the biggest grid book I could find for Maths (there is always so much maths) and five 240page A5 exercise books for my other subjects. I was going to get 96page A4 books but these had more pages (I know they're smaller) and they weigh the same amount. I guess it kind of depends what size of book you prefer and I usually get A4 but I've found that if you use half a page then its a waste of paper or if you just draw a line and start the next day from there it isn't as neat
Well, ta ta for now,
Jody

CARE's Walk In Her Shoes Challenge

Hey guys!
If you follow me on twitter you may know that I have registered for CARE's Walk In Her Shoes Challenge for 2014. If you haven't participated in this fundraiser before I would definitely recommend it. I did it back in 2012 and it's great because first of all, it really helps women and girls living in poverty overseas and helps rebuild their community in doing so. Second of all, it's not hard to do. All you have to do is choose whether you want to walk either
a) 25km challenge - 5,000 steps or 45 minutes of walking a day for one week
b) 50km challenge - 10,000 steps or 90 minutes of walking a day for one week
c) 100km challenge - 20,000 steps or 3 hours of walking a day for one week

Or of course if you for some reason are unable to walk this much during the day, you can always sponsor a friend!
The third reason I like this is because it encourages me to exercise daily which I really need :) I like fundraisers because I become encouraged to do things that I would not usually be bothered to do and it really is very easy. I did 10,000 steps a day in 2012 and that wasn't that hard for me and I am the opposite of a fit person. If I didn't make my 10,000 steps that day I would run around my house or on the spot in my room until I got there.

It goes from the 17th to the 23rd of March so it's only for one week but with the money you raise you will be supporting women and girls which will help lift their whole community out of poverty. CARE's experience has shown that when you help one woman out of poverty, she will bring four others with her. You can learn more about the facts, the statistics, where your money is going and how it is helping communities all around the world.

So I strongly encourage you to sign up for the 2014 Walk In Her Shoes Challenge today! There is a $15 registration fee and they send you a pedometer to track your steps. This pedometer can be changed from km to steps walked and as of February I think there will be an app that will assist you as well!

That's all for now,
Jody

Golden Wonder Bath Bomb

Holy cr*p I had a bath last night with the rest of my Golden Wonder Bath Bomb and it was even better than the first time! I originally thought I had two more uses out of it but nope. I was way too excited to cut it in half, I just wanted the whole thing in my bath at that very moment! So as you know I've already used a third of my Golden Wonder and after seeing there was two little pink balls inside I had to put the rest in - and words cannot describe the intensity and beautifullness of the colour of my bath! The first time I used it I crumbled it under running water but last night I popped it right in the bath so I actually got to see it fizz and oh my goodness the colour was SO INTENSE!!! And oh my goodness........my bath was BLUE! It was BLUE! Oh my goodness I can’t even describe the magicalness of it. I’m not just saying that either. To be honest, I didn’t see the big deal with bath bombs until I actually tried one and last night was just magical - like a whole new experience all together. I could smell it as it fizzed away in the bath but I kind of couldn’t smell it after a while, probably because my nose got used to it. It was like this really, really, deep turquoise blue with golden shimmer swirling around like a magical Disney world and I’m so upset that it’s only a Christmas invention. I can’t really smell it on me, but because I washed my hair I can still smell it on my hair, mmmmm...... I actually don’t like the smell of the Lush Pud as much but anyway I’m going to try it the night before school starts - I’m going to need it ;)
This was my bath water - and trust me when I say the camera was terrible at capturing the beautiful and intense colour of my bath
The colour was kind of a mix between this picture and the below picture and way more intense and much more beautiful.
I tired to capture the swirling golden sparkles but they were moving too fast and there really is no way to capture them
The golden sparkles left after the bath was drained. It was so sad to see all that beautiful blue water go down the drain :(
Anyway enough of that, today we went to the Maritime Museum in Darling Harbour to see the Vikings exhibition and then afterwards we had delicious and enormous burgers from Hurricane's Grill. We then watched The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug at IMAX in 3D - I thought the first one was Okay but I really didn't like the second one for many many reasons but mainly because I've read the book and it is almost nothing like the book now. So I could go on about the many things I don't like about the second Hobbit movie, but there's no use complaining because there's nothing I can do about it and it's obvious that this trilogy was made in an attempt for more money so you know what, I'm going to talk about the delicious Macadamia & Caramel gelato I had at Gelatissimo after the movie mmmmmm.......
Viking women often wore chain instead of jewellery. I learned quite a bit about Vikings and Viking Women today but I've always known (and admired) that Viking Women were very different to other women in most civilizations. In fact, For some time it has only been the role of women to do, well, pretty much nothing. Except take care of the house and have children and to feed her husband. Whereas viking women were much more independent and were almost as equal as men. Women had right over their house, they could own possessions and they could protect themselves too and were allowed weapons. They are probably the only civilization I know that allowed women to do these things. Maybe because they're not really a "civilization" because they are so independent instead of united as a government or a society. What I didn't know is that Viking women believed in Fates who were mythological goddesses that could weave people's destiny and kill them with merely the cut of a thread. Many women also believed they had this power and so copied this practice and would sometimes ride into battle to decide which men to kill.

Favourite Animals

Hey guys,

At the end of the term last year, our teacher gave us a worksheet called "Favourite Animals". You have to fill out his worksheet that requires you to write down three of your favourite animals and your least favourite animal and then four adjectives describing them. You can print out this worksheet here. Now beware, if you want to do this worksheet properly, fill it in before you read the rest of this post.

I only filled in my first favourite, second favourite and least favourite animals before she told us the code. It really is a very fun and funny worksheet and listening to some people's answers was just hilarious and for some people it (like myself) some of it was quite accurate!

For my favourite animals I put 'Fox' (who would've guessed?) and the four adjectives I chose were 'cunning', 'clever', 'independent' and 'wild'.
For my second favourite animal I chose 'Dog' and to describe it I put 'obedient', affectionate', 'beautiful' and 'friendly'.
For my third favourite animal I didn't fill out until after I had learned what it was supposed to mean so I actually cheated so I'm not sure if this is actually my third favourite animal (I actually have no idea what my third favourite animal is) but I chose 'Platypus' (knowing that it was meant to represent me and my personality) and I chose the words 'timid', 'swimmer', 'individual' and 'shy'. And I think all those words represent me.
For the last animal (least favourite) I chose 'Cockroaches' because she could said we could also choose bugs and I simple detest them. And to describe them I said 'disgusting', 'fast', 'ugly' and 'small'.

So the first one 'Fox' I think I do want people to see me as except maybe 'wild'.
The second one I think people see me as except definitely not 'beautiful'.
The third one is of course how I actually am because I purposely chose one that had descriptive words like me. But if I could've chosen another descriptive word I would've chosen 'different'.
For the last one, 'fast' definitely does not describe me. I may be short but I am definitely not 'small'. I am sometimes 'disgusting' and I am definitely 'ugly' and not proud (so inspiring).

So go ahead and try it out! Test it on your friends and family too!

Changing my blog name

Hi guys,

Since this blog isn't that popular yet and it isn't really defined as what kind of blog it is, I have a bit of freedom to change my blog name. Now the reason I'm considering this is because although I love foxes, it's not exactly what this blog is about (although I don't know what this blog is about) and in terms of my blog being my brand the name 'Red Fox Blog' does not relate to me at all and it isn't unique or special or individual. I think you could probably agree with me. The problem is, because this blog does not have an identity, I do not know what represents it. I know only I can know what would best reflect me but the trouble is I can't think of anything and I certainly don't know what would best reflect this blog. It's all just a big circle. My blog should me an extension of myself, and my blog name should also reflect me and my blog, yet I don't know what I want to do with this blog. Well, I do know. I do have future ideas and aspirations which I want to work to. But until then I don't have much to write about. But I don't want to give up because I've been trying very hard lately to get this blog a little further than what it was in 2013. But it's not like a proper blog yet. I don't have a theme, a topic or a reason to have it. There is no purpose behind it. I basically just started it for fun. I have no equipment, no Photo-shop; you can hardly call it a blog. Like I said, there are thing I want to do, stuff I want to write about but none of that has happened yet. And the stress of high-school seems to paralyse me and make me fret and worry about everything and maintaining a blog while trying to find things to write about everyday while your stuck in high school with nothing to do but "learn" is not an easy task. Which is why you tend to see a lapse in posts when I start school again. This blog kind of just keeps me entertained during the holidays. Phew, this is getting to deep. I'm just going to stop it there.
If you too think I should change my blog name, let me know in the comments.

About Time

Well just then, I finished watching "About Time". I originally thought I wouldn't see it because I was unsure about it and I didn't think it would be good. But the good think about being a pessimist is that you can be pleasantly surprised. And that's what it was with this movie. I don't think the main focus was really time travel, but more, the essence of living life to the fullest and I quote "I just try to live every day as if I've deliberately come back to this one day, to enjoy it, as if it were the full final day". Bill Nighy is of course a great actor and so if Rachel McAdams and Domhnall Gleeson played his part superbly. It was a really heart-touching, beautiful, inspiring, and quite hilarious in some parts, film. I thought it was odd that Rachel McAdams was doing another time traveling movie and I'm not usually into time travel as it's impossible and so many things can go wrong with time travel, but this was a much better movie than I thought it was going to be. In fact, I thought it was a great movie, and I would definitely recommend anyone to watch it, which doesn't happen all the time. Young or old, female or male, this is a great movie for anyone to see.

Chocolat and Nail Polish Shade Comparisons

Last night I felt like watching Chocolat again so I decided to re-do my nails while I was watching.
I tried out my new nail polish from the Models Prefer pack I got and it's called "Obsession".
But before I painted my nails I needed to remove the remaining nail polish I had on so I used the Swisspers nail polish remover pads because we have run out of nail polish remover. They are quite handy for travelling and it comes with 36 pads so you get a lot of uses out of them and also you don't waste heaps of tissues or toilet paper while removing nail polish from your nails. Another reason why they're good is that they have hardly any smell and don't smell horrid like nail polish remover at all. They make your hands and nails quite oily though so have so tissues on hand to wipe your hands.

This morning I decided to do two shade comparisons with my turquoises and my mints

The first one is "Pistachio Parfait" which is from the Finger Frosting - Gelato Colours pack I got from Diva. The second is "Obsession" which as you know comes from Models Prefer. "Pistachio Parfait" and "Obsession" are almost exactly the same. I think "Pistachio Parfait" is a little lighter but they are pretty much the exact same colour. The picture may show the difference as more obvious than it actually is. The third is Sergeant Pepper-Mint which came from Glassons.

This second shade comparison comprises of "Mermaid" by rokk96, "Gorgeous" by Sinful Colours, and "Money Money" by Models Prefer
Well I hope you liked that - could be a few colours in there you would like to add to your collection :)

Monday Fashions Sketches #5

Hi guys, time for my weekly fashion drawings again. If you haven't seen my previous posts then I will fill you in now that I am not that good of a drawer I use a template from the My Style Studio kit from Klutz
Yikes, okay so the one on the right isn't my most proudest designs and I apologize for that but I think that's the worst of it.
I think i was going for a simple 60's look here......

Cut loose, Footloose

Hi guys, I've given up on the pre-fall runway highlights and so I didn't really have anything all that interesting to talk about today. But a few hours ago I just watched Footloose for the first time and loved it :) If you haven't watch it yet, I would definitely recommend it. Especially if you're like me and you like musicals, American teenagers, dancing or catchy songs that make you want to get up and sing and dance. It's kind of like a mix between Grease and.....hmmmm...je ne sais quoi. Like a more modern version of Grease except with a bit more emotion. *Spoilers* basically he's the kind of kid that has had his dad run out on him, his mum has died so he's moved to a small country town with his aunt and uncle and cousins. Basically he's skilled (at a lot of things e.g. dancing, fixing cars, driving cars) he's cute, he's cool he's fit, and he's kind. The exact kind of American sweetheart, main character you want to see. I would recommend it if you like a)musicals,  b)old fashioned American high school movies or c)you like dance movies. Anyway I loved it and now I have the catchy theme song stuck in my head :) It stars Kenny Wormald, Dennis Quaid and Julianne Hough. Directed by Craig Brewer. And wow it was only made in 2011. Obviously the actual movie quality seems modern but the kind of story seems older. Maybe that's why I like it :) And did you know I have never seen Dirty Dancing? Don't actually plan to as it doesn't look that good and I don't think I'd like it that much and the trailer almost put me to sleep. Same with the High School Musical movies - don't think I will ever watch them because they look awful to me. And I'll just add this in today because I only realised just now that it as actually a remake and the original movie was in 1984 which is why the story seems old-fashioned so there you go - I'm not very smart.
Also I think he's kind of cute. But only because he has great body, cheekbones and hair but cannot come close to Johnny Depp. But you know, I kind of thought he looked a bit like Johnny Depp just because of his face structure but his face isn't as nice as Johnny Depp. Has a nice voice though :) But again, not even close to Johnny Depp so don't take it the wrong way!

But yeah really reminded me of Johnny Depp when he was younger - which by the way, he was HOT.

Oops! Forgot!

Sorry guys,

There were some things I wanted to show you yesterday and the day before but I forgot about it sorry.
So I'll show you now :) So some of them are from DFO on Wednesday and some are from Top Ryde Shopping Centre which I went to for the first time yesterday. Actually rather disappointing. There wasn't much there but I did get a pair of sunglasses from Valley girl for $10 which I'll show you in another post.
Biggest Bed Bath N Table I've ever seen!! (DFO Wednesday)
Fox pillow! (Wed)
Love this room (besides the poncho sticking out from the left which is my mum - not that I don't love my mum. I should stop now) DFO Wednesday
Cute back but not as cute as the one below!! (Strandbags, Top Ryde)
Oh, my, goodness, look at this bag! I loved it so much and it was on sale so I should've got it but I didn't and I'm soo regretting it!! In fact I loved it so much I had to add it to my wishlist post I published yesterday.
Oh my goodness, I die. Most beautiful tea light holder I've ever seen. •WANT• •WANT• •WANT• (DFO)
CUTE, CUTE, CUTE. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE. I just love Bed Bath N Table, they have the cutest stuff. (DFO)
Omg I love this parrot unfortunately I didn't know the flash was on and it was awkward to take another picture. (Habitana Top Ryde)
I love these tins and I'd never seen a Stamp Set one before so I just had to take a picture of it :)

Yes well that's that. Actually a rather pointless post as I don't think it inspired you much but there it is. And I just had to show you that bag which I'm still regretting not buying as it was on sale and I can't remember how much it was but I think it was like 20 bucks or something so yeah. Annoyed at myself but anyway, it's up on my wishlist now. Today we might go into the City and see what's happening with the Sydney Festival.

Ta ta for now,
Jody
