Day 7 of WIHS!

Hi guys!

So today was the last day of WIHS. With my dad's donation of $20 which I'll have to put on tomorrow, I will have raised $1000!!! I also have done a total of 76,957 steps! You can still donate up to the 30th of April so that's good otherwise I would've had to put on my dad's $20 tonight and that was just not going to work out.

Today I did 10,485 steps. I planned on doing extra but by the afternoon I got lazy (I'm ashamed to say) and so finished off my last steps at about 8:30pm by walking around the courtyard and the park...

CARE WIHS Day 5 and 6

Here are the photos from yesterday and today. Yesterday I did 10,352 steps and today I did 10,388. This morning my pedometer wasn't working and it was only registering about half of the steps I took. By the afternoon it had fixed itself up again but i hope it doesn't stuff up again!

Day 5
Fungi
Suzie will always help me get my ten thousand steps!
Day 6

We went to Spotlight at Birkenhead point today because I needed to get pattern and fabric for Textiles. So anyway, we passed Cotton On and these were having a Nothing Over $10 sale so we went in and I ended up getting these comfortable, comfy pants!
I am loving Instagram's new contrast button, it give a great effect!

So tomorrow is the last day from Walk In Her Shoes and I'm going to try and do extra for it! Also, so far I've raised $969!!
Be awesome, and I'll try and fit in another post soon. Most of the assignments are done I've just one more to do and quite a bit of homework. More good news, my aunt's workshop will be going ahead! So hooray! It's next Saturday at the Botanic gardens so it should be a good day! Also, I can't wait for the Easter show this year! I'm going with my cousins this year (as I have been for several years) and I've set myself the challenge of going on every ride my cousin does, so I really hope she doesn't choose anything too bad!

Until next time,
Jody

 Day Four: 10,400 steps.

I'll do some more posts when I'm not so busy, but for now, that's all.

WIHS Day 2

Hi guys!

Today was the second day of Walk In Her Shoes. Arrrggghhh! So much to do this week! So many assignments due and then WIHS on top of that. Oh well, I'll just have to work productively and time manage (like that has ever happened).

Today was tricky because I had school sport for half the day and for sport I do ice-skating. So after ice-skating I had to walk around and around and up and down the shopping center until I got to about 7337 steps. Unfortunately, the more time I spend in and around shops the more likely I am to buy things. After having a good sniff around The Body Shop I got these two soaps; Brazil nut and Coconut, mmmmmm.... So yeah that happened...
Anyway after dinner I went for a walk with my dad and got up to 12,325 steps! Hooray!
So yeah guys don't forget you can still sponsor me and you can follow me on Twitter for updates but hopefully you will get daily updates this week right here.

Hope you are all reaching your goal today!

Walk In Her Shoes has begun!

Oh my goodness, two weeks without fashion designs, it's atrocious I know. But I've been really busy lately as I've had so many assignments and assessments coming up. I still have lots to do. On top of that there's still the regular homework I have to do every week. So anyway, it's been a rough couple of weeks. If you follow me on twitter I will be posting regular photos this week; tracking my WIHS progress :) and I will probably be posting it here too.

So today was the first day, it's not too late to sponsor me by the way if you haven't already! Just click here and follow the steps to helping women and girls in developing countries live a fuller life!
Today my shoulders were killing me because for the past few weeks I've been carrying so much weight on my shoulders and putting so much staring on them that now I can't even touch one of my shoulders without it hurting. I tried putting as little as I could in my bag so that I wouldn't be carrying so much weight walking around. Anyway I made it through the day and after some pacing on the balcony I made it to ten thousand steps. I did some more afterwards so in the end the total was 11,410 steps, which, according to CARE's 'step to km converter' is 8.69km.

So yeah, wish me luck! I hope you all have a wonderful week hopefully you don't have masses of school work to do like me and hopefully you aren't spending your time writing blog posts and doing other non productive stuff when you should be doing something school/work related like me!

CARE's Walk In Her Shoes Challenge

Hey guys!
If you follow me on twitter you may know that I have registered for CARE's Walk In Her Shoes Challenge for 2014. If you haven't participated in this fundraiser before I would definitely recommend it. I did it back in 2012 and it's great because first of all, it really helps women and girls living in poverty overseas and helps rebuild their community in doing so. Second of all, it's not hard to do. All you have to do is choose whether you want to walk either
a) 25km challenge - 5,000 steps or 45 minutes of walking a day for one week
b) 50km challenge - 10,000 steps or 90 minutes of walking a day for one week
c) 100km challenge - 20,000 steps or 3 hours of walking a day for one week

Or of course if you for some reason are unable to walk this much during the day, you can always sponsor a friend!
The third reason I like this is because it encourages me to exercise daily which I really need :) I like fundraisers because I become encouraged to do things that I would not usually be bothered to do and it really is very easy. I did 10,000 steps a day in 2012 and that wasn't that hard for me and I am the opposite of a fit person. If I didn't make my 10,000 steps that day I would run around my house or on the spot in my room until I got there.

It goes from the 17th to the 23rd of March so it's only for one week but with the money you raise you will be supporting women and girls which will help lift their whole community out of poverty. CARE's experience has shown that when you help one woman out of poverty, she will bring four others with her. You can learn more about the facts, the statistics, where your money is going and how it is helping communities all around the world.

So I strongly encourage you to sign up for the 2014 Walk In Her Shoes Challenge today! There is a $15 registration fee and they send you a pedometer to track your steps. This pedometer can be changed from km to steps walked and as of February I think there will be an app that will assist you as well!

That's all for now,
Jody
