Frozen Review

Hi there guys, so I thought I would do a movie review since I've never done one of those before.
I must say the reason I've never done it was because I'm actually a bit nervous. I've never done a movie review before not even in school - how weird is that? - but I'm going to try now because I think it would be good to get some practice, and besides, how hard can it be?

Frozen

Movie Review

Frozen is Disney's latest animation film Directed by Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee, Starring
Kristen Bell as Anna, Josh Gad as Kristoff, Idina Menzel as Elsa and Josh Gad as Olaf.

Like all Disney films, it has comedy and adventure wrapped up in a family musical. The jokes are quirky and cute (perfect for giggly kids or adults with child's humor) and the plot is simple and fun with a little bit of a twist ending with a serendipity that reminds of The Princess and the Frog.

However the dialogue lacks in some areas where the story is going smoothly but seems to be cut short by dialogue that seems unrelated or doesn't fit in.

When I think of Disney films, music is one of the main areas that I find important. Everyone wants a Disney movie with a songs (or at least song) they can remember. And in any movie I find, the soundtrack makes the movie. But in Disney's 'Frozen' the songs lack their usual Disney charm and timelessness. Again, the lyrics in the songs sometimes take away from the general flow and catchiness of the song and seem unrelated. *Spoilers* For example when the song "Let it Go" ends with "the cold never bothered me anyway". And Anna says the line "in the first time in forever" too many times which made it irritating every time you heard it and it seems like half the song is composed of this one line. Also the beginning song of "Vuelie (feat. Cantus)" was annoying and didn't quite seem to fit in with the theme. I can hear what effect they're trying to make but it just wasn't quite right. Same with "Frozen Heart", the effect was obvious but the song seemed kinda cheesy. The songs definitely take away hugely from the movie as it is a musical. However Olaf's song "In Summer" is funny and cute and Idina Menzel is a great singer as I already know from listening to my "Wicked" CD.

The story did go smoothly though and didn't seem too slow or too fast. I think Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee made the story flow seamlessly from scene to scene and the graphics and look of the characters as well as their outfits was enjoyable for the audience to watch. However they didn't really grasp the 3D effect to their advantage. If I'm going to pay extra to see a movie in 3D I want to remember that I watched in 3D. However during the film I forgot it was in 3D most of the time as they did not exactly use it to their advantage and so it doesn't really make much difference whether you watch it in 3D or not.

The message of the story wasn't quite clear to me. I think the moral might have been something like "love conquers all" but I really don't know. But it is a childrens film so I guess 'love' was just a theme in general.

I know this film got high reviews previously and it got a high rating of 8.1 on IMDb but I definitely don't think it deserved that as the music was such a let down. I guess I would rate it.......6.7

Well I hope that was useful to you, I will try to write more movie reviews and hopefully I will get better :)

Photo App examples

 Hello,
Yesterday I signed up for Bloglovin so now you can follow my blog there!

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

The other day I gave you a review on my favourite photo apps well today I'm going to show you some photos I've edited with my favourite ones.

I added the effects to these photos using Camera+

On these ones I used Bokehful (some were also edited in Camera+ as you may notice)
 You can change the colours...
 You can change the shape...
 You can change the intensity...

Some of these were later edited with Rhonna Designs
As you can see I'm not very good at using this app

And on these I used Font Candy+

Well I hope that gave you a good idea of what the apps do and don't forget to follow me on twitter, pinterest or bloglovin now!

What is Prosciutto?

Well basically, prosciutto is an Italian dried and cured meat.
The process is this,
They get a clean, raw leg of ham and cover it in salt. This draws out the moisture making it s
They then hang it in a cool dry room for usually 2 months but originally up to 2 years. This cures the meat so that you don't need to cook it when you buy it (although you can).

cure

verb

preserve (meat, fish, tobacco, or an animal skin) by salting, drying, or smoking.

So I hope you all go out and buy some prosciutto from your local deli right now!
Let me know in the comments what you thought of it (if it's your first time trying).

I do not own these images

Simple Lunch Recipe

Hey guys,

I've decided my New Years Resolution is to become a better blogger. Which means I am going to have to put more effort, research and consideration into my posts and also what my blog looks like which to be honest, looks like a 7 year old did it. No offense to any great 7 year old bloggers out there. But seriously I do want to try making this a better blog.

But while I try to turn that illusion into something real, here is my lunch for you:

Salad and Sandwich

Ingredients

  • Tomato - You can use any kind of tomato you like e.g. cherry tomatoes, grape tomatoes, tomato medley or just a regular sized tomato
  • Feta - I used Danish Feta for mine but you can use a different one
  • Red Onion
  • Turkish Bread - or any bread but Turkish is my favourite!
  • Avocado - make sure you have a ripe one :)
  • Prosciutto

Today I had salad with an avocado and prosciutto sandwich.
Basically it's a Greek salad with no olives or cucumber. Yeah, I know; I'm a very fussy, unhealthy eater but feel free to make a Greek salad if you like.

If you don't know what prosciutto is, where have you been? It's ham that has been cured and aged and it tastes soooo good!!

I ended up putting my salad on half my sandwich and eating it as slices.

Basically my mum bought this Nicer Dicer thing and it chops things up for you. So I thought I'd try it out on my salad. But if you don't have Nicer Slicer Dicer thingomabob then you can just cut the red onion and feta into small chunks and either cut the tomatoes in half (if you have small tomatoes) or into wedges (if you have big tomatoes). The turkish bread was fresh so I just cut off a nice big slice of that and cut it in half. I then spread avocado on both sides and placed two slices of yummy fresh prosciutto onto one slice of bread. Feel free to try it out! It is yuuuummy :)

LUSH LOVE

I had a swim in our pool not long ago and the temperature was lovely. Like that not cold not warm temperature that you can relax or swim in.

So afterwards I thought it would be a good chance to use a LUSH product.
I decided to go ahead and use some of my Golden Wonder and all I can say is
Oh.my.goodness.
So my bath ended up being this bluey green arromatic pool of relaxation and I could see golden sparkles floating around the bath and now I can see golden specks on me too!
I'm excited for my next bath! Ooooo I can see some pink in there!!

So if you have not tried a LUSH bath bomb then you must. If they are too expensive for your liking then wait until a sale is on like I did :) I wouldn't recommend though to people who don't like strong smells but it really does smell good :)
