Weekly Fox

Here's a funny one

Oh I Wish I'd Looked After Me Teeth

I do not own these images
Oh, I wish I'd looked after me teeth,
And spotted the perils beneath,
All the toffees I chewed,
And the sweet sticky food,
Oh, I wish I'd looked after me teeth.

I wish I'd been that much more willin'
When I had more tooth there than fillin'
To pass up gobstoppers,
From respect to me choppers
And to buy something else with me shillin'.

When I think of the lollies I licked,
And the liquorice allsorts I picked,
Sherbet dabs, big and little,
All that hard peanut brittle,
My conscience gets horribly pricked.

My Mother, she told me no end,
"If you got a tooth, you got a friend"
I was young then, and careless,
My toothbrush was hairless,
I never had much time to spend.

Oh I showed them the toothpaste all right,
I flashed it about late at night,
But up-and-down brushin'
And pokin' and fussin'
Didn't seem worth the time... I could bite!

If I'd known I was paving the way,
To cavities, caps and decay,
The murder of fiIlin's
Injections and drillin's
I'd have thrown all me sherbet away.

So I lay in the old dentist's chair,
And I gaze up his nose in despair,
And his drill it do whine,
In these molars of mine,
"Two amalgum," he'll say, "for in there."

How I laughed at my Mother's false teeth,
As they foamed in the waters beneath,
But now comes the reckonin'
It's me they are beckonin'
Oh, I wish I'd looked after me teeth.

Weekly Fox

We've been reading The Outsiders in English and in it he recites Robert Frost's poem:
I do not own these images

Nothing Gold Can Stay

Natures first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

The Fox and the Grapes

I let my brother play on my 3DS yesterday and he said it was the worst game he'd ever played because it was too hard for him and he didn't understand what to do. It reminded me of one of Aesops Fables:

The Fox and the Grapes

One hot summer’s day a Fox was strolling through an orchard till he came to a bunch of Grapes just ripening on a vine which had been trained over a lofty branch. “Just the things to quench my thirst,” quoth he. Drawing back a few paces, he took a run and a jump, and just missed the bunch. Turning round again with a One, Two, Three, he jumped up, but with no greater success. Again and again he tried after the tempting morsel, but at last had to give it up, and walked away with his nose in the air, saying: “I am sure they are sour.”

And the moral of the story is that "it is easy to despise what you cannot get".

no quotes.....poetry?

Well, I was looking at a poem the other day and thinking about how beautiful can be; and I realized since I've had no quote inspiration for decades I could post poetry. Admittedly it's harder because there is so much poetry and it's hard to find ones I like (and understand) but I know a few so I'll post those first. It's just that, being a teenager; it's hard to blog when I've already got so much other stuff to do (homework and a tonne of assignments - as well as a lot of gaming time).

Anyway here's the one I was thinking of (it's very famous and I'd be surprised if you haven't heard it before):

Fire and Ice

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I know of desire,
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if I had to perish twice,
I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice

More foxes + pinterest

Hey there everyone. Sorry I haven't posted in AGES. It's just that I haven't had anything to post about and I'm back to school so obviously that's a bore. Anyway, I got back onto pinterest today. It's one of those things I don't do regularly but when I do I do it a lot. You probably think I'm very slack as I haven't even been posting weekly quotes. Well to tell you the truth, I haven't heard any inspiring quotes lately so I know it's disappointing but 'if you don't have anything good to say, don't say anything at all.' But I don't always stick to that advice :D :) ;) Anyway where was I? Oh yes, Pinterest. On my 'Foxes and Woodland Animals, Pictures and Ideas' I now have 356 pins! It's mainly foxes but there are a few other in the mix. I also started a new board 'Cool stamps' which isn't very interesting. Although there are some very amazing, beautiful and cute stamps out there! :) But my main was is still my foxy one. If you haven't guessed, I love foxes.

Anyway while I was pinning away I found this; so this is this week's foxy quote:

Ahh yes, author of 'The Lordof the Rings' and 'The Hobbit' although guiltily I haven't read the books; I have watched the movies however and have them in blu-ray :) Can't wait until Desolation of Smaug comes out in December! I'm gonna going to watch it at IMAX.

By the way my the link to my Pinterest is in the sidebar --->
